Post subject:  unpacking

i know this topic has been addressed 128093479283512431123 and half times before, but how long do you think i should wait for unpacking my 360/6 maplglo coming from New Jersey down to Florida? weather in florida has been in the 50's to the 70's this week, but im not so sure about new jersey, im pretty sure it wasnt near freezing temp.s though.

Howdy,

I wouldn't worry too much about that, depending on the shipping method. If it is coming by UPS or FEDEX ground, then it will have been in the truck and probably the depot for a while in Florida before it gets to you. There will not be much change in the temperature.
The problem exists if it were the other way around. If the guitar arrives in a cold climate then into a warm house, then I would wait several hours until the guitar has time to adjust from being on a freezing truck to your heated home. When I lived in NY, I had to deal with this often when receiving shippments in the winter.

RIC advises a 48 hour wait for situations like this. I would say a minimum of 24 hours (unless the conditions are really extreme).

I've never yet met anyone who could wait 48 hours to open a newly arrived Rick.

There are some on the Rick Resources forum who have done just that.
