:( Tell me it ain't so. I was shopping for one online today and to my disamy I learned that they were discontinued! Is this true? Permanently ?
or is this a temporary thing? Anyone know where to track one down for a reasonable price before they get extremely hard to find?

As far as I know its permanent.

And there have been a few threads about this in the last day or 2 showing ebay links. The cheapest I saw was for 100USDs.

You can always just use a regular stereo splitter cable. Someone around hear brought up that Carvin makes one for pretty cheap.

i picked one up on the bay for $175 buy-it-now in orig. packaging with addtl cable. they show up on there fairly regularly.
i was also told a basic a/b box would work - bear in mind the cable coming out of ROS jack of your guitar needs to be a stereo cable. the cables from the box to amps can be mono.
good luck

The Rick-O-Sound kit was just a stereo splitter in a box. Many music and electronics shops can provide you with a "Y" splitter cable at a fraction of the price of the old Rick-O-Sound kit.

They show up on Ebay every so often, usually at a premium price. There are 3 for sale now. . .

I made mine for about $10. I'm going to use the $65-165 that I saved for a nice Evidence Stereo Cable since George Ls doesn't make one. Believe me, if a clumsy, electronically retarded person like me can make one, so can you!

they didn't sell well when they were available ... you can get a $5 part at radio shack that will split the signal ...

The Rick-O-Sound Kit was discontinued in 2006 and all remaining stock was sold. The ROS Kit had a long run of availability since it was introduced in 1960.

I'm glad I got mine. :p

But it wa a birthday gift, otherwise, I wouldn't justify $75 for something I could get at Radio Shack for $20.

I might have picked up one of the last units from Pick of the Ricks - just to have and after seeing some of the prices on ebay I can't keep from laughing wondering in a few years......... but I don't think I'll let it go.
