Hmmm, there's an idea. An "A" series would be entirely consistent within the true meaning of the "C".

Hmmmm "True meaning of the "C". What could it be? Has anyone ever asked?

"C" = ClassicYear, as in

4001 C 64 = The 4001 model in its classic year of 1964.

Whoa -- what about the 4001V63? Well, 1963 was not the right year for that "classic." So the "C" in "C series" can also, in its multi-layered ambiguity, stand for CorrectYear. Same with the 360/12V64. The correct year of initial production was actually 1963, hence the 360/12C63.

And -- an "A" series is entirely consistent within this "true meaning," as in . . .

Ambiguity

Nailed it! Ouch, that was my thumb!

Cryptic clues are standard fare. Enjoy having a CEO that so actively interacts with the forum members.

Thanks, Mr. JH.

Reminds me of when that children's book "Masquerade" came out in the 80s, with all of the clues in it to find a gold medallion-thingy.

OH NOOoooooo! You can't get away from the meaning of 'C' even by changing the thread to talk about the 'B' series!!!

As long as it's still "To b or not to b" I'm not worried...
