I just purchased a TR-50 this weekend that is in 9.9 out of 10 condition. The tolex is in excellent shape - only thing that is wrong are a few scratchy pots.

I cannot find any information out about this amp so far. I did find some information online about what appeared to be a TR-50B, which looks to be a bass-guitar version with one 18".

Does anyone on this forum know anything about the TR-50's (e.g. typical problems, dates of manufacture, etc.)?

Here are the electronic features of the Rickenbacker TR50G Amplifier listed in the catalog:

50 watt RMS approximate power output at 8 ohms
50-10,000 Hz bandwith
60-10,000 Hz power range, specially tailored for guitar characterics
5% total harmonic distortion

In 1982, the retail price of the TR50G was $369.

Thanks for the information. The only thing that is missing from the TR-50G I just purchased is the footswitch.

I've not been able to find any replacement footswitches that will work. Does anyone know where I may be able to get a footswitch that will work with the TR-50G?

Your TR50G may not have been originally equipped with a footswitch. The TR50 Series Amplifiers had a couple of Optional Accessories available including the footswitch and heavy duty black covers made of fabric backed vinyl textured material.
