I have the possibility of getting a TR 25 but have to buy it without playing thru it.
Guy says it's working fine, looks OK and sounds great (if I don't use the distortion !?!?!?)
Any thoughts from you Rick Amp people? Pros and cons? Years they were made?

No, hadn't seen that. Thanks. Unfortunately zero info on the amp in question.

Here's some info about the Rickenbacker TR25 amplifier:
Solid state; dual instrument inputs; tremelo, reverb, echo effect and variable distortion; bass, midrange and treble controls; 12" speaker; 25 watt RMS approximate power at 16 ohms.
The amps were manufactured in the early 1980's and the retail price in 1982 for a TR25 was $239.

Thanx RICKandVOX, I was thinking of just using my 620/12 (Toasters) through the amp. Worth the buy or should I stick to my Vox (AD120VT)
Hey, my 1000th post - a set of Toasters and an Accent please Mr. Hall ;-)
A Happy New Year To RIC and all Rick players around the globe!

I have two TR25s that I bought used, and they can be great amps. However, even solid state electronics don't last forever, and one of mine needed a thorough cleaning, and the other needed some parts replaced, before they were restored to vintage condition. They sound fantastic in tandem in Rick-O-Sound Stereo on my 360/12 and 370.
So, you might take a chance if the price is right. They are fixable if you have a great amp repair shop in your area (like Aviator Audio in Edmonds, WA).

I guess I'll end up paying around 100.- Euros for the amp (near 145.- Dollars) which is OK I think.
Also, I repair my own amps (and the rest of the band's amps!) so that's a plus.
