1. What happened to the 4004C? I remember the add for it years ago in a guitar magazine and then a few years later, when I got to college and got on the internet, the guitar was replaced with the Cii.
2. Does anyone know the logic behind the 4005 number? It just seems odd to me that you would jump from 4001 to 4005 and then come back later and fill in the "gap."
Just curious and interested in history.

the 4004ci is discontinued ... the 4004cii is still being made as is the 4004L ... now if I could only get a 4004CII5 ...

I think if you'll look at the top of this page you'll see the 4004Cii is still alive and healthy, and a different instrument thant the 4004L.

I was really wondering more along the lines of if the CI wasn't popular or if some market survey determined the transluscent colors would sell better and required different wood (etc.). I see that the 650 series guitar has a similar build to what I remember being on the CI, but that option is not available in the CII.
If I ever create a company making widgets, I would randomize the numbers to make people ask questions. I think it would be fun to read the speculations!
