I have a Blueburst 4003 on order (order placed in Jan 2005 by The Rickenbacker Page, NC), but still not produced (no complaint, happy to get a quality instrument when it's done). When it's produced, will it have the new tone switch and walnut headstock wings?

I saw the ric-o-sound discontinue as well. I just ordered one Sunday. Will I get it? I wonder how many are left and why it is leaving?

Model 1996 is officially here! Just go to the news tab and click on recent news for the announcement in addition to seeing the 1996 on display under the models tab, Vintage Series.

The 1996 is also on the "All Models" page and listed in the Models menu.

Quote: I checked the price sheet and it says that the rick-o-sound kit is being discontinued; anyone care to provide some clues? Discontinued last year actually but there's still enough materials that it will be available for quite awhile. There's plenty of quality shielded stereo Y Cords available out there. Are the wiring and the pickups going to be the same types/values as the 325C64?

Hey everyone. I'm not too familiar with the 1996 - is this a model that Rickenbacker lovers have been clamoring for? Is this THE new model or is there something else coming out as well? I'm interested to see what everyone has to say. Personally I must say that I'm a bit disappointed in this new offering, but we all have different tastes.

I also noticed that it lists the neck wood as being rosewood, but I couldn't find a single other guitar with rosewood neck, is this a typo?

I'm just glad it's not a new bass, given that I just ordered a 4004 a couple of months ago :)
