I have recently acquired a nice 1978 4001. I am missing the gear and screw from the G string tuner. I don't want to replace all the tuners. Can anyone tell me where I might can find a gear and screw to fit my 1978 2001? Thanks.

I found a lot of stuff including Rickenbacker tuners on eBay although I only remember seeing them sold in sets.

The Klusons that RIC used in the '60s and '70s (with a brief intervening Grover period) were also used on Gibson and Epiphone basses in the '60s. There's a full set on sale in four seperate ebay auctions. Hers the link to one: http://cgi.ebay.com/60s-Gibson-EB-Ricke ... 7C294%3A50They're probably a tad expensive......

Our customer service department has gears and screws available. Give 'em a call but be prepared to supply a photo of exactly what you need, as there are several types, both chrome and nickel plated.

Thanks for the info. I will check with the service department at Rickenbacker. Hopefully they can help me out.
I have been watching the tuner sets on ebay but I hate to pay $80 for a complete tuner when all I need is the gear. I guess a bad choice is better than no choice.

I called Rickenbacker's service department today and asked if they had a gear to fit the tuner on my 1978 4001. I was told they did not sell key wind parts only complete sets. Did I call the right department? Any ideas?
