I use to like ghs boomers but now on my ricks, I really like DR High Beams 45-105. Very comfy strings on the fingers. lots of great tone from bottom to top with great sustain. Best strings I ever used. good luck

You can order them on line at "Musicians Friend".There in a black box and hand made in New Jersey. Let me know if you like them. Make sure you get "HI-BEAM" (I wrote it in-correctly last post) stainless steel round core. good luck

I'll cast my vote for DR hi-beams. They stay fairly bright for a long time. I think much better than rs swing bass. Ken Smith rock masters come in a close second. 40-100, or 45-105 both work pretty good.(well?)

Quote: Hi all, with my new 4003 I've been having a blast... however I was wondering what strings to get it set up with. I USED to use GHS Boomers on my Fenders, but have now switched to EB Slinkies. I noticed that the gauge on my Ricky is very light and was wondering what gauges do you all use and what can u recommend? I was looking at Some EB Extra Slinkies (40-60-70-95) or to bring out the low end a bit more, EB Super Slinkies (45-65-80-100)
Which of these do you think will suit a 4003 with low action? :)
Cheers! BOB Stay away from the EB's. They dont last that long and are hard to bend. I have two sets on a couple basses and will not buy them again. I used d'addario stainless extra lights on my RIC's...they were long lasting and very flexable.
