When did Rickenbacker discontinue their acoustic guitar line? Or do they still produce it but its really hard to find like the mandolin? Sorry if this has been asked a lot in the past.

I'd suggest that you take a look at this thread from Sep '06:

hi,
you don't have to apologize for asking questions that may have been answered before. That's what forums are for;

A forum is a revolving carousel of questions being asked over and over. So ask away.

I don't know when, why, or if Rickenbacker Acoustics were or have been discontinued, but I know that a member here called Jingle Jangle is able to build them on a custom order basis, because he is authorized to do so by the factory.

So if ya gots the dough, by all means, order one.

Zurdo

I'm not looking to buy an acoustic, I was just wondering. But are the custom guitars jingle jangle makes certified Rickenbackers. Does the factory let him do this?

Yes, under the direct authority of Mr. JH himself.

Oh I remember wondering why he had an official Rickenbacker picture under his name but he didn't have a title.

I think he makes more rickenbacker acoustics than they do at the factory, in fact i'm almost certain of it!

Uhmm, no need to be almost certain... Paul Wilczynski currently makes more than the factory because he makes ALL Rickenbacker-branded acoustics. RIC hasn't made an acoustic at their factory in years.

The only model he is not authorized to produce is the 760J. Well, actually, I think he made ONE - with John Hall's permission.

Regards,

Koose
