Hi all!

I don't own a 12-string Rickenbacker...yet. So I don't identify the sound that easily when listening to songs, yet.

For those who own a 360/12 (or similar), could you please tell me if one of the guitars sounding in the following recordings is a 12-string Rickenbacker ???

As you can see, I'm a big fan of Roxette, and, as you already know, Per Gessle is one of those Rickenbacker lovers. Of course I know there are other distorted guitars sounding together at the same time, but I'm almost sure there is a 12-string Rick there.

What calls my attention (and at the same time, confuses me) is that Per Gessle, in both videoclips, is using a Gretsch WhiteFalcon. I guess it's just for having a look for the videoclip and not that the jangling sound of those songs was generated by the Gretsch instead of by the Rick 360/12.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS DOUBT !!! I've been all these years wondering how that guitar sound of the song Fingertips was generated. Until I got to know about 12-string guitars...and then I realised that could be it!

Google search of Roxette images turned uo 2 Rics, a white 330 and a black one, maybe a 350.

Actually, I need someone to listen to those songs and recognize the sound as a RIC 360/12 (if it's truly is one). You all have your ears trained on how a 12-string RIC sounds, so it should be easy for you to recognize them in these songs.

Regarding Roxette, most of the guitars were always recorded by Jonas Isacsson, and not by Per Gessle himself. So, looking at a picture with Per holding a RIC model doesn't help much really.

I hear no 12 string Rickenbackers on the two Roxette tunes.

Listen to The Beatles "A Hard Days Night" including the title song, You Can't do that, Any time at all, Things we said today,I should have Known better and others... and when finished you'll know perfectly well what a 12 string Rickenbacker sounds like.

A Hard Days Night is btw among the best recorded Beatles LP's with an excellent overall reverb (listen in particular to how many of the final chords in most of the tunes rings out like in a church.

In "Fireworks" is AT LEAST a Rick at work... the quieter clean intro sound, even the distorted riff could be Rick, in the chorus a light, crunsh distorted Rick 12-string...

In "Fingertips" the solo and single note riff COULD be a 12-string, to my ears...

but as Per Gessle, YOU should know!!!!

EMG, single coil active pickups can give the illusion of a 12 string. Especially when a slight chorus had been added. I have been fooled once or twice. lol
