I bought a 4003 a few months ago in the UK (according to your serial number decoder "manufactured week 14 of 2010) and what I originally thought was probably some fret rattle is, on closer inspection, clearly coming from the bridge/saddle area. Is it likely that with this date of manufacture, my 4003 has the old fitting? Is there any way of telling from visual inspection?

Second week of April, 2010, was before most of the basses were shipped off with the improved saddle/bridge design IIRC. It can be retrofit with new saddles and they should lock in very tight.

If the saddles are loose and causing the problem you should be able to get them to do it just using your fingers.

My 4003 LH (2008 I think) developed this problem with the saddle. Does the boutique ship to the UK? At the moment I have shimmed it with some this sliced gaffa tape and it is fixed from rattling but ...
