Yep you were right...Thanks Ben..I will enjoy and look after her for sure....I'm not a show off.....I'm quiet and at times quite nervous about things but being up on the stage with a Ric in my hands gave me an amazing buzz I gotta say...( actually gave me confidence as well as the couple of beers I had ..The fella running the open mic complimented the Ric and I heard the name Pete Townsend mentioned by someone in the crowd so a fairly good guess is that they were talking about Rics and famous Ric players..
So when the forum members say that Rics become a talking point among people in the audience, they're right..

Hi David - it was a pleasure to meet both you and your wife. Glad to hear that the 330 got an early outing - I suspect it will be the first of many. I would personally recommend persevering with the Rick standard strings. You've moved form a very different set up on your old guitar, and its probably just an adjustment thing. Tim

Hi Dave,
The neck is easy to play and there is a lot more room on it than I realized....There is no cramping of the fingers.... I would like a little bit more fret on the neck...( the strings are quite close to the end of the frets on the low and high E ) and I am slipping off a bit the higher up I go on the fretboard but again, I think it's all part of adjusting after having played a 'Heavy' workhorse acoustic with thick 12's..( in comparison the 10's are completely different under the fingers) ....The sound is lovely and I'll wait a while before getting a set up as I want to get used to the Ric standard 10's..if I can't I'll get a heavier string gauge but I'm confident I will get used to them..........It's a brilliant guitar and it worked beautifully with the wifes acoustic...( I knew it would )...She's playing the rhythm and I'm picking over the top...We are in a battle of the bands competition on Sunday...gonna play the rick for sure!!
We are gonna play 4 songs...This is the shortlist at the moment...(Spin me right round-Dead or Alive)...(The one I love-REM)........(Zombie-Cranberries).....(Dakota-Stereophonics).....(What's up-4 non blondes)...(The Uprising-Muse).......(Tainted Love-Soft Cell) !!

Thanks all...Yeah Dave, the competition went really really well........Didn't stay to hear the result though, the set up was a bit of a shambles...whoever got the most votes won and as it was just me and the wife, then we were not going to be able to compete with 5 member bands who had family and friends there voting for them!!
We also played early and by the time some of the bands played the place was a lot fuller so obviously nobody was gonna vote for us if they hadn't even heard us.
Felt as though me and the missus really nailed the songs though and that's all that counts...Went to an open mic after that and again everyone was purring over Mr Jangles, ( thats my name for him now! ).....I am loving the sound and playing gets easier each time
The wife wants one now so we are already looking for another one!!
