Hey, wassup? today I decided yo buy a Rickenbacker as soon as I get money ! :D BUT I need advice to pick a Ric. x) I'd love to have a Beatles Ric, but I recently saw a 370/6 and a 340/12 and tumbled over a 350 and a 325! On the same online store! I play a lot of Georges solo stuffs and riffs but I love to take Lennons rhythms. And then we got a problem, Which one? I know that Rickenbacker makes the most famous 12's and love their sound, but 325 got the round sound. Can anyone help me to choose which will be my first RIC?

-Thanks, Lassiebacker

They are all beautiful guitars. I would caution you however about the 325. If you have large hands, a short scale guitar may not be the best choice. My first Rick was a 330/12. It's still my only 12 string guitar. Assuming that you have a 6 string guitar (or more) in your collection, a 12 string may be the way to go.
Which ever guitar that you choose, I'm certain that you will be happy with it.

Hi There lassiebacker :D ! Are you well and keeping cool???? I suppose you are in Norway!

I hope you are still studying guitar, music, and enjoying school. It's good to hear from you it's been some time since last we chatted! It's so good to hear you have saved and waited to get this Ric, we have steered you well away from fakes and copies. That's a relief

Note what Rick o Phile mentioned 'if' you own another 6 string electric . I would always recommend a six stringer as a first electric, a 12 next if that's what you want. My vote for you would be a 330 or 360, your hand are not big, but don't go short scale either.

Keep taking lessons and practice daily, study music, have fun  . One other suggestion, as you are young, take some singing lessons as well as guitar lessons. You will get a shock at how your voice will develop even with a few lessons to start! It's still Ok to learn when your older but it's best when you are young, you are at the perfect age to learn.

Good luck remember take your time to get a good deal on a Ric in perfect playing condition if used.

Thanks for the advice Rick o phile, but my hands arent big as well as I turn 14 this christmas ^^, Yeah.... been a while since I was active here jbudweiser :) I am planning to start to work at a local shop, and needed advice for picking a Ric. My calculations are like these:
If I get 75nok per hour it will be like this:
325/350 = 23000 norwegian kroners- 306 hrs = about 1,7 weeks
330-330/12 = ca. 13000 nok- 173 hrs = bit over a week

So I got a saving plan :) but which one x) ?

You've obviously have a thing for The Beatles going on and I think you can't go wrong with the 350v63 as it has all the 60's mojo of the 325 but with the standard scale.

Lets face it you'll get a 12'er anyway at some point like most of us!

Thanks for the reply Uffingdon :) A used vintage Vox head and cab can't go wrong with the 350 ! :D sooner or later I'll get the 12 string! :)

It's really a 325. Hopefullly you can find a music store that has a few different Ricks in stock, and you could give them all a try.

I've only tried the 360, (and a 330 fake) and yes I know, that 1996 is basicly 325, but I've found a 350 and the 1996 for the same price, used, here in Norway ! :)

There is no doubt the Ric 12's are iconic and beautiful...

Regarding Beatles and many more...I like the 330/6 as often played by George Harrison...arguably more 'versatile' then the typical Byrds '12' sound....
