Yes some Hi gain pedal are prone to create some extra noise. Rickenbacker's are not noisy when Hi gained amped or put through Hi gain effects. Hi gain pedals are notoriously noisy, not so Rickenbacker's. From my experience many guitars will proceed Rickenbacker's in the noise Dept! If I use noisy suppression it's usually for a noisy pedals rather than a noisy guitar!
The other time I may sometimes use noise suppression is when I'm using a thinline Tele with single coils, it's only if I'm in a small area and confined close to Amps, sure then I might use some noise suppression. A noise suppression unit is very handy if you come across bad electrical or wiring/cables or pedals. I mainly play semi's and hollows, sure a solid won't feed back. But you can easily ramp up the volume on a Ric without feedback problems. Provided your not hugging your amp at the same time. Hug the guitar a bit further away
As for which is the best 330 or 360, that question will never be agreed on because they are both such great axes. the ROS for me is a plus!
Maybe others get a different results than I but I really find Ric's so quiet. The other thing I can run my 381 into a vintage Fender twin crank the volume, and shake and rattle my house and I don't have a feedback problem, and I live on Terra Firma and the house is solid
Yes Ric solid bodies are fantastic, but I believe their semi acoustic and semi hollows really shine against competitors. If you fine tune your pedals and amp rig, using all good cables and equipment if all is well it should run fairly quiet. Cheap pedals cables amp or shoddy equipment will give you noise problems.

Sir, you're inferring that feedback problems come from "cheap" gear, instead of acknowledging that Semi-Hollow instruments have a tendency to feedback at higher levels of volume/gain. That's somewhat insulting, don't you think? When I plug in a solidbody guitar and it doesn't feedback with my "shoddy" equipment ( ), I guess that means it's some supernatural being's fault, huh? Perhaps the air is controlling those guitars?
Semi-Hollow guitars are known to feedback in certain conditions. It has nothing to do with Rickenbacker quality or other gear quality.

I fail to see where in my previous post where I made inference to shoddy equipment causing feedback. If I did, well that's simple as you could quote it! But it doesn't exist! I fully understand that hollows are more prone to feedback than solids, I would hardly try to insult anybodies intelligence and contradict that!
But I need not re read my post as it stands strong and firm in the ground! It is just an account of my experience it is not necessarily indicative of other guitarist. But if you read it again you will find
At no stage did I state that poor equipment would cause feedback, I mentioned if you were in a confined area or stage and you are forced to hug both guitar and amp then in that case you may get feedback and noise! Yes it is accepted that solids are not as prone to feedback, but I don't have any troubles getting my hollows at voluminous level that will shake the place and still no feedback problems for me
I did say others may have a different experience
Yes I did state that cheap, shoddy equipment causes noise, also I said a noise suppressor can come in handy if you go somewhere with bad electrics or wiring. But I didn't insult you or anyone's intelligence, perhaps re read my post and you may comprehend it in a different light!
I really don't know why you would feel somewhat insulted, I know I make spelling mistakes, my eyes are not the best, but my manners are intact if I'm not mistaken! Please read my previous post again, you may comprehend it in a different light.

Sir, I think you should reread your own post, because I reread yours and mine several times. I see yours as I stated before. You may not have meant it that way, but it seems that way.

Quote the part that seems that way!

jbud and Aint - you may both be right on this one.
Presumably the quote being refered to is "some Hi gain pedal are prone to create some extra noise", which whilst it clearly does not say that it's cheap equipment that is to blame, "some hi gain pedals" could be inferred to mean cheaper ones if you already had that idea in your head, and "noise" coul be inferred to mean feedback in the context of a conversation on feedback.
Still, we are clear now on what everyone means so we can go back to agreeing the the 360 is the superior Rick.

I mentioned my MXR Dist +, which is an affordable pedal, but by no means cheap. It's not really a high gain pedal - kind of in the middle of overdrive and fuzz. Randy Rhoads is probably most famous for using it.
I don't think there is such thing as one Ric being superior over the next, as the 330 and 360 are related, but different guitars. There was a thread some time ago discussing whether or not the 330 was the budget, or cheaper, version of the 360, and the general consensus was no. I owned a 360, and while it had its positive points (and not a day goes by where I don't miss it), the 330 is more my style.
Of course, if the OP would consider a 381 as well...

Pigfender, thanks for your mediation skills! It's OK that you presumed that is what I meant, ""well it's not really'' (I did write ''Noise'' not Feedback that is what I meant). However you are thoughtful to attempt to do some clarification. It's a sign of a gentleman and good sport. I expect that somethings are subject to different interpretation. We all only see the tip of the ice berg!.
I think maybe you are right re the 360, but it so hard to pick between them!
So hard in fact, I made the choice the simplest way,,,,,I got a 381 LOL Who wants to spend time vacillating, all day long over which is best a 330 or 360 when you can just play a 381!
Maybe it's because the 381 are built like a Sherman tank , they are so solid,,,,they refuse to shake and resist feeble attempts to feedback for me!
