Hi Everyone,
I have a Rickenbacker 325 with serial number E47652 in jetglo. It has a John Lennon limited edition inscription on the pickguard. The pickguard is yellow, but I think that's because of the age. Everything seems to be in line with the way it should be, except the tailpiece is a trapeze. I don't have the vintage case or certificate of authencity with the guitar, I bought it off Craigslist from a guy who said it was in his closet since 1993. Is this a JL, or is it something else?

The short scale 325JL was issued with an Accent vibrato so, if it is a 325JL, the tailpiece has been changed. The full scale model, the 355JL, was issued with a trapeze tailpiece from the factory.

I know of a shop where there is a 325JL for sale - did they originally come with Hi-Gain pickups as that is how this one is configured.

Can't tell for sure without pics... The serial number range for a JL LE is correct... Here is one made a few numbers away from yours... http://www.rickresource.com/register/vi ... 6order%3D6Are you sure it is a short scale 325 and not a longer scale 355?? Those came without the Accent vibrato.

From our internal system:
The serial number E47652 indicates that the instrument is a John Lennon Limited Edition (355JL:JG), and was limited edition number 1380 out of 2000.

Thank you so much for the input! I had a feeling it was a 355.
