How is the volume on the 330? A big problem for me with my 360 was volume.

  I'd try turning the volume up on the amp, if that's not loud enough get a twin, if that shakes the house your getting there, and if you want to go totally voluminous, and put the twin on 6-8 then you will surely succeed! Buy a 20 ft Ric and a 20 foot Fender amp like Mr Marr dreams about, I think that would do the trick very nicely don't you think???!

Solving big volume problems, needs big solutions....... buy a huge amp or two!

Just playing unplugged the volume is nice and loud. To my ears it it is a little louder than the last 330 I had, but I could be remembering wrong. Today I am going to get it plugged in to my Mesa and open it up a little. My last 330 had some nice sounding pick-ups that distorted very nice. I am expecting this will do the same. I will post later after I get a chance to play thru the amp.

Well, it was more from the pickups to the amp. I'm sure you know how it is: You find a comfortable volume on your amp that suits all your guitars, and then one just requires you to get off your butt and turn it up.

Richard Thompson actually stopped using a guitar on tour because of this.

Well, I got a chance to plug in and play through my Mesa and I am still just thrilled with this guitar. Volume is pretty good. It is louder than my Strat and pretty close in volume to my PRS Hollowbody for an answer to the volume question. I get your point about the volume between guitars Pokemon, just didn't follow it at first, so my bad! Playing clean has a very good classic Ric sound. I don't play too much like that but nice to know it is there. Spent a lot of time playing distorted and that is the reason I love these guitars. I would like to have a guitar with the toasters, but if I can only have one Ric I would need to have the High Gains. For playing modern rock with mid to upper mid level distortion these are the pickups that sound the best to my ears. The tone on this guitar sounds very much like the 330 that I had a few years ago but this one seems to have a little less single coil hum, but the other one I had only seemed noisy when I was playing out at louder stage volumes. I will play this one out a week from today so I am a little anxious to see how this one is on stage. The neck on this one feels perfect; fret work is as good as it gets. To me it feels a little more comfortable than the one I had a few years ago. I am NOT in the camp that dislikes the necks on the 300 series guitars. I never even knew people had a problem with them until I started hanging out on these forums. To each their own but I love the feel of these. Longer post than I thought it would be, but I just can't stop raving about this 330.

I'm glad to hear this 330 is doing everything a Ric should do but also working in the way in which you prefer and that suits your style. I do have a particular amp vol I like, but it does get changed to suit the guitar, the adjustment is only a small amount. Guitar pickup strength varies a bit so yes you do have to turn the volume knob somewhere along the line
