Hi All, my new RIC 360/6 is amazing apart from one small issue. With both pickups turned all the way down in either pickup selection, i'm getting hum and some of the sound of the pickups (eg guitar strummed) coming through my amp. Also the hum is less when the strings or bridge is touched.
Any suggestions to the cause?

Does this happened when the guitar is plugging into both jacks? or just the standard jack?

Any suggestions to the cause? All of my guitars don't actually cease all sound once they're turned down; I press my Boss tuner if I want to stop ALL noise. It doesn't sound like it affects your actual playing or tone, so why worry? Enjoy that Ric!

I do pride myself on being silent when i'm not playing (as well as my guitars LOL) I'd like to find a mod to try to elleviate the hum when the volume is lowered also. I sometimes like to set up a good crunch sound on my amp then I lower the volume (which induces hum in the output on my 360) to clean up the sound. Obviously this will effect things when I record (either DI'd through a PODX3 Pro rack unit or justplain old Mic'ing up. I do have a Korg DTR2000 rack tuner and I did as you do and mute the output. I could use a footswitch to mute... but this is a last resort. I usually just press mute on the tuner just to tune.

Just heard from the uk distributor. It seems it is the daisychaining of the earthing on the pots (dry joint I guess). I'm sending it back to the supplier and they're going to sort it out for me. I'll update on this when I here back from them, or when I get "her" back.

Basically, based on what you have said, you're wanting a Noise Reduction pedal or unit of some sort, which eliminates all noise when you're not playing.

A bad ground in the wiring harness can allow sound to come through as described. Most likely a cold solder joint, or a broken ground lead altogether. I just went through this with my 4003.
