I'm considering swapping out the hi-gains on my 620 for toasters (and maybe also adding a vintage tone switch), and I wondered whether anyone had any thoughts on these potential mods? Will it sound better? Will the loss of output (compared to the hi-gains) be very noticeable when the tone switch is engaged/disengaged?
Also, if I don't change the pickups, would adding a vintage tone switch be a good idea anyway, or does it not sound good with the hi-gains?
Thanks! Andrew.

You will lose some volume with the toasters, but gain a slightly clearer, bell like tone. With the switch I'm not sure of a difference,if any.If you have to have a vintage '60s sound,go with the toasters.I personally prefer hi-gains on the 6-string,toasters on the 12-string.

I would leave the High Gains in a 620. I have had both and chose to keep the High Gains over the Toasters. The Toasters were nice but they lacked in the low end range as far as I was concerened. I'm sure they would have just rocked on a 330 but the 620... High Gains.
Toasters are something like 300 dollars a set, not enough difference for 300 bucks to me. I have seen some toaster like covers that fit High Gains that look pretty sweet, never have tried them but if the look is something you want, it's out there.
Just my Humble Opinion.
