New member, my first post and my first Ric and it's very cool - sounds great, the narrow neck isn't that tough to get used to, contrary to a lot of opinions, and yes it does sustain and gets surprisingly growly when pushed. For a 25 year old guitar it's almost mint.
The neck pup by itself is a bit dark, though.

Welcome, you have a great guitar. Maybe turn the treble up on your amp a notch or two if you use the neck pickup on it own. If you have only just acquired this guitar you will eventually discover tones that you thought not possible. Over time you will learn to tweak in lots of tones. Most tone can be achieved via the guitar knobs, but sometimes the amp may need some adjustment as well to get the best sound.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your acquisition. You're going to enjoy your ride on the RIC train!
Okay, you've waited long enough, which one will be your next?
