This was actually stolen from my son (whom I bought it for as a high school grad gift) in March fron the Univ. of Alberta in Edmonton. Campus security and Edmonton Police haven't a clue. S/N 0520806.
Sent out some emails to other musician friends in Fort McMurray and Edmonton but so far no leads.
Odd story: Several electric basses were stolen from Grant McEwan College (Edmonton) the next month and the perp was caught but the cops wouldn't follow up on this for us. We thought there might be a link.
Any info appreciated...and rewarded.

Two things I can say I absolutely hate, liars, and theives. Sorry for your loss, hope it gets resolved. The police are not always your friend, unfortunately.

Sorry to hear this news. I hope your son's 4003 will be recovered soon and in the same condition as before it was stolen.

Welcome to the forum, George. Sorry for your son's loss. It's a good thing you posted the serial number here on the forum. John Hall (RIC's CEO) keeps a database of stolen instruments.

George.....The fact that you bought the 4003 FG as a high school grad gift for your son makes this incident even more painful. I'm sorry for his and your loss. Never could comprehend the concept of theft. But hey, life is all about recovery and we all get around to restoring our faith in humanity. You have much to be thankful for as you observe your son pursue his higher education. I'll keep a lookout for it here in Los Angeles, although stolen merch seems to remain in the hands of someone locally, IMHO. For some reason I can only log in using my laptop... Very strange.
From the RRF I can report that the original post writer above has been notified.
As the theft happened in Canada 8 years ago, and the stolen bass is now in the USA there may not be much that can be done.
