All of the Rick basses will work well for metal music as well as any other type of music. I've been playing them in hard rock and metal bands for a long time.

Holy smokes!!! I didn't think there were many Ric players in the Maritimes. I'm a future Ric owner(soon I hope) and was wondering if any of you maritimers know of anyone whose selling a 4001 in the neighbourhood of 1200$, I've been dying to get one for years. And it's cool to see that there are some metal players still playing Rics...they're the best basses period!

where are you seeing these basses for sale in Canada? I check e-bay practicaly every day and the last one from Canada I saw was a while ago. I just checked and there aren't any in Canada. There are some that will ship to Canada but that would cost a whole lot more than 1200$ what with all the border fees and whatnot. I would really like to avoid getting one imported and I don't want to wait over a year for a new one...I WANT ONE RIGHT FRIGGING NOW!!! I've been wanting one for at least 4 years and I can't wait anymore.
