Hey everyone,
I've been trying to find a Fireglo 620 for myself this year. I'd been planning on buying one for a while and convinced my wife to let me pull the trigger this year for my birthday and...you know. I initially went to Sweetwater to order one but was told that the model was discontinued (which Rickenbacker has since told me isn't true, but they aren't currently taking orders for them).
Musician's Friend told me they had some on order and were expecting them soon. I placed my order in the beginning of January. Their customer service being what it is, I have been told five different things by five different people. I don't mind waiting for this guitar - but I'm concerned that they aren't actually expecting any and will keep telling me it's "expected soon!" for a year and then cancelling my order.
So should I trust Musician's Friend here? Or should I keep my eyes peeled for a used copy, though finding one in Fireglo has proven a challenge?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

That's interesting about new 620 orders not being taken, not sure what's going on there. There's a site with a bunch of 620s' but they're all 12-strings. I would think there should be new ones coming soon from previous orders, just keep checking.

I'm listening...
(Though seriously, having the extra gears on the headstock would drive me crazy)

Back in the '60's I had a 450/12 that, on occasion, I would change to a six string. There was no problem. I would take the other tuning keys off and cover the holes with black electrical tape. A Mapleglo? You might find some special colored tape.

Don't know if you're still looking or waiting for a 620 Fireglo, but one just appeared in stock yesterday at Davesguitar.com.
