Well, hello hello everyone…..

I only just recently discovered this forum, and I wanted to thank everyone ( especially Mr. Hall and the team at Rickenbacker ) for making available, and contributing to, such a valuable source of information for these splendid instruments - as well as for creating a "meeting place" for those of us that love them.

I have learned so much by going back over the threads, and what an enjoyable “read” it usually was!

One thing I may have missed ( or not come across quite yet - kindly forgive me, if so ) concerns the actuating arm on the Accent vibrato. On one of my guitars, I am considering bending it a bit to put it in a slightly better position for me when I am playing ( I know John Lennon did this on his second 325 for similar reasons ) and wanted to know if such a one-time simple bend might unduly stress the chrome plating enough to create any visible damage.....

I appreciate any feedback you may have ( or if you just point me in the right direction for the information ).

John's has lasted 40+ years (including Beatles touring years). I wouldn't think it would be detrimental, as long as you're careful about it.

That's true...and I am sure mine will not go through anything even close to what his did!

If I do decide to go forward with this, I will wrap it in padding and carefully use a press or something to create the bend.

Also, in the unlikely evemt the arm becomes damaged, it can be replaced. The vibrato arm is available in the boutique on this page.

Where in Georgia are you located, Capri?

Capri, just be certain you remove the arm from the tailpiece BEFORE you bend it.
