This may sound very stupid but I've been wondering about:
I've read in some threads Mr. Hall talking about a possible damage to the glossy finish may occur with certain plastics and PVC because the chlorine emisions from that materials.
I wear a Livestrong wristband in the right hand, which is in constant friction with the wood of my 4003 when I play with fingers. May it be harmful?
Sorry for the stupid question :P

You're not going to "livestrong" very long with chlorine leeching into your bloodstream! I have a "make poverty history" white wrist band. I'm sure it is less harmful to the finish than one of those copper "I can feel it working in seconds" braclets.

I am right-handed and use to wear a watch on my left hand, so I just put the wristband I wear (one of the Paul McCartney adopt-a-minefield kind) on my left hand, which is obviously the fretting hand. This way, it never touches any guitar I play :).
For what it's worth, Paul has recently been wearing two white wristbands on his left hand, and they come into contact with his guitars all the time.

They put chlorine in the water to kill bacteria and keep the delivery system clean of harmful contamination. When I put in a pool, you are supposed to shock the water to 3 ppm - when I checked it after filling from the hose the water was already at 3 ppm. This was obviously summertime and they had it higher - 1.6 ppm is normal, IIRC. You can use a pool kit's chlorine tester to see what yours is at.

If I live downwind from Sheryl Crow, should I keep my 360/12 in its case while she's burning all of her Livestrong bracelets? Now that she and Lance Armstrong are splitsville, I fear that a private act of lashing out might have huge public repercussions....

I belive the Livestrong bracelets are silicone rubber. That will not harm the finish but could cause problems if you ever refinned.

Bob: I think that applies to putting silicon ON wood. Chemically it acts like little ball bearings and in a refin, you wouldn't be able to get a finish to stick.
I don't believe the silcone would leech out of the wrist bands. If so, the braclet should say "LIVENOTSOLONG" instead.
